Last Updated: 21/10/2000 The following is a complete checklist for every single British video. Some covers may vary, but all 'known' are listed. Please note, these are listed in episode order, not in order of the date of the videos' release. COMPLETE LIST AT A GLANCE: Complete video listings
This list is continually growing as we delve deeper and research more into the releases. The actual amount of episodes and which episodes were released are the easy parts, the number of times they were released, repackaged, and complied is amazing!
The video's are listed as follows -
Title/episode Year: The year it was released and any re-releases.
Video Code: The code listed on the video. Originally to help shops order the videos, now they help make identifying what video you have easier. Lists original release and re-release codes.
Running time: The episode or episodes combined running time. Usually approximations.
Cover: The picture on the cover. Usually box art work. Also lists background colors.
Comments: Any interesting points, things like any cuts made to the episodes, back cover illustrations, etc. These vary from video to video.
Any piece of information with a (?) by it means that this information could be wrong, or in some cases missing.
The two main video companies who produced the videos were Video Gems and Tempo Video. There were later re-releases by Avon Cosmetics, also videos released exclusively in conjunction with stores, Marks and Spencer's and W.H.Smith. These episodes were then (generally) re-released at a later date.
One of the later video releases (a single episode tape) could be -
Transformers - Video Play Pack, containing: a coloring book, 8 A3 size coloring posters and 4 felt tip pens. It could be Dark Awakening. It runs for 22 minutes and the code 89412.

THE VIDEOS

Title: Transformers The Movie
Year: 1987 (Video Gems), 2000 (Maverick Entertainment)

Running time: 86 minutes
Cover:
1987 - Features the UK poster art work for the film.
2000 - Features a redrawn scene from poster art work.
Comments: Features scrolling text at the start of the film. Victor Caroli does voice-overs for the beginning and end of the film. Spike's line "Oh Shit!" is cut from the film, this was probably to bring it down to a U certificate. Has four stills from the movie on the back cover. 2000 re-release has Sony Wonder on the side of the case, Sony recently brought up all of Sunbow's (who made the tv series) catalogue of programs.

Volumes two and four
Title: Action Adventure Collection Volumes 2, and 4

Cover: A redrawn Galvatron box art work, on an alien planet surface. There is a portal middle left with the ark flying from left to right.
Comments: Features the episodes "Madman's paradise", "Call of the primitives", "Big broadcast of 2006" and "The Quintesson journal" States that "Big broadcast of 2006" previously available as 91582 (different from the other code), so it may have been released with a different episode.

Title: Call Of The Primitives /The Girl Who Loved Powerglide
Year: 1988 (Tempo Video)
Code: V8807 (Tempo Video)
Cover: Features Superion, Hot Rod and Galvatron transforming with an explosion behind them
Comments: Came in a black card board cover. The cover states that the Call of the Primitives was previously unreleased, so this was probably the first video it appeared on. May have come with a coloring book. The back cover features the 1985 back cover art work (Grimlock, Shockwave, Insecticons) cut in two by a jagged line. It advertises the Headmasters and Return of Optimus Prime Videos.

The video begins by listing all the available videos at this time. The back cover feautres the power master Optimus Prime art work and also advertises the Transformers Super Video and Return of Optimus Prime video. The video sleeve continues inside with a special offer of £1 off any childrens video ONLY from W.H.Smith's.

Running time: 184 minutes
Cover: Pictures of the cartoon characters involved, Jazz represents the Transformers.
Comments: Contains the episode "Forever is a long time coming". Released as part a compilation, the tape contains 7 other cartoons including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and GI Joe. This is probably the hardest episode to get on tape as it appears it was only released on this tape.

Cover: Picture of Optimus Prime, Jazz, Starscream and Soundwave, same picture as UK
Sticker book cover.Comments: Only available though Marks and Spencer's stores. A Picture of Rodimus Prime, Galvatron and Superion transforming on the back cover. Video tape is curiously labeled "Transformers II", perhaps they considered Dinbot island/Revenge of Bruticus number one.

Title: The Nightmare Planet / The Nightmare Planet/Grimlock's New Brain
Year: 1991 (Tempo Kids Club)
Code: 94632
Running time: 27 minutes (with trailer), 49 minutes
Cover: Power Master Optimus Prime box art work pasted in front of two metallic globes (could be Quintesson ship and Cybertron)
Comments: Has a smaller picture of the cover on the back. Also a token to cut out for a free video. The trailer features other available cartoon videos, including the Nightmare planet. The Grimlock's New Brain release indicates on the inside of the cover that it also features the episode. It has no beginning titles and also the robot point is missing from the back of the video.

A mock up of the video cover from memory.

Comments: There is a smaller picture of the cover on the back. It features adverts for the other available videos, the Nightmare Planet, the Super Video, and the video re-release of Dark awakening and Grimlock's new brain. A spelling mistake on the back cover blurb calls Springer "Stringer". The video begins with a trailer for other videos from Tempo Kids, including the Nightmare planet At one time it appeared The Ultimate Weapon release contained no evidence that it is actually on the tape except for the long running time of 49 minutes. However a recent discovery of the above video shows otherwise, in most cases the sticker was probably removed so there would be no indication of the other episode. It mentions "See inside for details".

Title: Carnage in C minor / The ultimate weapon
Year: 1989 (Tempo Video)
Code: 92532
Running time: 45 minutes
Cover: Soundwave's box art. This is pasted on top of a green grid on top of a space background.
Comments: The back cover blurb tells you exactly how Carnage in C minor ends, (The Autobots finally erase the tape from Soundwave's memory and once again foil the Decepitcons)
